Chapter 8

She was standing with a young and handsome boy on the Side walk waiting for the car, as Khushi came into the school to pick Annika up she witnessed the boy who hugged her tightly and wished her good bye in an instant a smile came on her face and she was happy to see that Annika had enjoyed herself, Annika came into the car and with out a word, the first thing she did was hug khushi tightly and with a smile she said

Annika: Didi thank you so much thanks a lot this wouldn’t have been possible with out you, thank you so much

Khushi smiled and hugged her back and said with a loving voice

Khushi: I am so glad you had a good time, and see you are so beautiful that’s why that boy came out with you

Annika smiled, they chatted all the way as they reached home.

He was waiting at the front door, it was 10:58 he was so waiting for khushi to come late, she said she would bring Annika home by 11 but it seems that she was going to be late a smirk came on his face seeing her defeated, Oh how he was going to tear her apart with this victory of his, Arnav Singh Raizada thought to himself, but suddenly his though broke when he heard the door bell ring, she walked in with a big smile and behind her was Annika, Arnav was shocked beyond words and then khushi came to him lifted her hand to show him the time and said with a proud smiled

Khushi: 10:59 I brought her 1 minute early (she said smiling)’Arnav just stood there blank what just happened he was going to win and suddenly the entire thing toppled and victory came to her how was that even possible, he was blank for the first time he was blank, she walked passed him up with Annika and made her way to her room while arnav just stood there speechless as to what was going on.

Next morning as the sun brightly shone the children were up early and were sitting with Khushi one the table as she gave them toast and butter.

Aarti: Didi from today our summer holidays have started, we are free to do what we want. (she said excited)
Khushi smiled she came up to aarti and pecked her cheeks and then said

Khushi: yeah and we are going to have lots of fun this summer you wait and watch, in fact I was thinking now that all of you have time on your hands how about you join some fun classes like painting or dancing (she suggested)

Ratna walked in and happened to hear khushi speak she said

Ratna: what a splendid idea go for it you kids will have fun

Anuj: yeah nani I want to join basket ball and cricket all my friends are going to go.

Aarti: and I want to join dancing I want to become a balarina (she got up and started twirling and was about to fall when khushi held her and said)

Khushi: careful baby, (she smiled)

And they all started chuckling and then Khushi said

Khushi: and Annika what do you want to do this summer

Annika: didi, nani I was thinking can I join pottery classes (she said with a soft tone)

Every one was quite no one spoke a word khushi looked hear and there confused and then Anuj said

Anuj: mama like to do pottery (he said in a sad voice)

Khushi understood the silence and the aarti said

Annika: I want to do it because I feel close to mom, I hope that’s ok nani (she asked concerned)

Ratna got up and sat next to Annika and then said in a loving voice

Ratna: Annika off coarse its more than ok, you should do it your mother will be very proud of you and she will be happy that you are enjoying yourself, you should do it (she said in an encouraging voice)

Annika smiled and then khushi said in a happy tone

Khushi: this summer is going to be super fun wait and watch

They all were talking making plans of the summer when suddenly they saw the door bell rang, Hp went to open it, a young tall girl came inside the house, she was wearing a short mini dress, Nani was walking when she witnessed her she looked at her from top to bottom and made a face. The girl came forward and said

Girl: Hi I am lavanaya, I am here to meet ASR (she showed her hand to nani to shake it)

Nani looked at her with utter disgust and then called out to ratna

Nani: Ratna, is chotte home some girl is here to meet him,

Ratna came out all confused, and the kids followed khushi was inside cleaning up

Ratna: yes ma, chottey is home who is it

Nani gestured with her eyes and then lavanay put her hand forward to shake ratna’s, she avoided it and folded her hands in a traditional way and said

Ratna: yes who are you

Lavanaya followed her action and then said in a hesitating voice

Lavanay: I am lavanaya I am here to meet ASR

Arnav who was walking down the steps saw Lavanya he came forward  and then La hugged ASR in front of every one and said

LA: oh good you’re here (she smiled and kissed his cheeks)

nani, his mother and the kids glared at him all confused, he was going to push La away when he saw khushi, who was standing at the kitchen door stairing away blankly, this annoyed him, and in anger he put his hands around la’s waist and then hugged her back, Khushi turned blankly and went back in, the rest of the family were just shocked and nani was plain annoyed. She shifted in his arms and then he said

Arnav: ma, I would like you to meet LA she is my girl friend (he said in a very casual manner)

But what he said in a casual manner was not so casual to the family they were just shocked beyond words especially nani, she never wanted her grand son to marry a girl like la, she was not cultured and not at all traditional in any manner, ratna on the other hand was trying to be as neutral as possible trhe kids were just in the side lines watching all this and khushi, she just prayed that nani doesn’t explode any minute, La smiled,

Ratna: its nice to meet you betiya, (she said not trying to be rude)

Arnav: ma, I am out for dinner so don’t wait for me,

Ratna just nodded and then his eyes went on to khushi’s who was just intently looking at him, watching the scene but didn’t utter a word, his observation on her broke when he heard la say

La: oh come on sweet heart we will be late for dinner

He looked at her and nodded and then turned to go, not wanting to create a scene although he had half a mind to go and kill khushi for staring at them, it was none of her business thought he, why was she jealous she had no right over him, he deiced to deal with her later when he was back, turning around he made his way to leave with La
